Paws for Fiber

Name:
Location: North Carolina, United States

I am an animal fanatic - if it has fur, feathers or hair, I adore it. I love working with fiber in all its forms, and am an avid spinner and knitter.

It seems to be a bit cooler today. Still working on washcloths, but am running out of cotton - never would have thought that would happen. I think the rest is cotton blends. Also have worked a bit on my gansey, and am taking a break before I start the edging on the civil war shawl.

I've got to figure out how to post pictures to my blog. Paws4Fiber will be ready to have items for sale soon - fiber, handspun yarn, and of course, things for the 4 legged babies. I will be linked through FiberOnTheMountain.com - as soon as it is up and running. But you can peek and see Jane's items now, and I'll have my own part of the website. We are friends who live about 2 1/2 hours from each other. We are very diametrically opposed to each other, so the website will reflect the best of both of us - she is a product person, I am a process person. She loves working with her handspun, I love fiber prep from the moment it leaves the fiber animal (actually, I'd love to have the animal!)
But, we hope to have great things going soon.

I'd also like to be able to show some of my projects. Is anyone else waiting patiently for Ravelry?

Back to knitting. I think ribs and slaw for dinner - assuming DH gets home soon!

Working on washcloths for Socks for Soldiers. Will be doing this through Sept. Do you have any idea how many washcloths patterns are on the web? Not to mention the grand fun you can have with your stitch dictionary, trying new patterns and seeing which ones you like.

Has been a long, very hot summer. I'm so looking forward to fall. I bought a fall scented candle, found a great deal on material to make new curtains, and am ready for this heat to go away.

Laura A. has a new blog for charity knitting. I'll be posting the link soon.
